Frozen pipe. A thought: If the things Maui is saying he did are true, Moana is being EXTREMELY disrespectful. Yes, Mauis actions have ruined their way of life, but it was a way of life built entirely off what Maui gave them (islands, coconuts, sailing, longer days, etc. Like if you lived off a trust fund your whole life and suddenly had it revoked. Censure is justified for sure, but to incredulous ask why you would ever thank them is just being a little brat. In this light, as big of a dick move as it was, I can kind of understand him wanting to leave Moana behind.

I never quite understood the flack that certain film buffs gave "Frozen" back in 2013, which I believe is a solid and fun installment in Disney's current revival era.
For "Frozen 2" there are several different factors going for it. The breathtaking animation helps to elevate astounding voice work and heart. The new musical numbers are pleasurable to the ears; namely "Into the Unknown" which is emotionally riveting. It has another cover in the end credits that will have you dancing on the inside.
I admire the writing and directing team for making an effort to take a less conventional approach to being a Disney sequel, but ironically the story feels lightweight compared to the stakes in the first film. A decision made towards the end is also extremely questionable and not as well thought out as it could've been, tainting the rest of the story and making it inconsequential.
Don't raise your expectations too high, though this should be an enjoyable enough ride for fans of the first film.

Then theres the inconsistent application of her powers, a twist that wasnt given the gravitas it should have given the rest of movie. Youngifying effects on Fury and Coulson were really good though. And as usual, visuals were top notch.
